January 8, 2026 – The Great Falls Hospital is excited to welcome Remi Okwechime, MD, to the hospitalist and intensive care team. Dr. Okwechime is board-certified in internal medicine and has over twenty years of experience.
Dr. Okwechime earned a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria before pursuing a Master of Public Health from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. She continued her medical training with an Internal Medicine Residency at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, followed by a Neurocritical Care Fellowship at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Most recently, Dr. Okwechime was appointed Facility Medical Director of the Medical ICU and Neuro ICU department at Johnston Willis Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. In addition to her administrative leadership, she performs advanced critical care procedures, including central venous catheterization, arterial line placement, and endotracheal intubation.
