October 9, 2025 – The Great Falls Hospital is excited to welcome Lisa Yeary, a Certified Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), to the anesthesia team. Lisa was inspired to pursue a career in medicine by her parents, both of whom were CRNAs. She attributes her passion for medicine to the countless dinner table conversations they had about patient care and the science of anesthesia.
“From an early age, I developed a deep appreciation for the impact anesthesia providers have on patients’ lives and a genuine love for science and physiology. That early exposure inspired me to pursue a career where I could combine technical precision with meaningful patient connection,” shared Lisa.
Lisa began her educational journey by earning an associate degree in nursing from Faulkner State Community College. She then pursued a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Alabama, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. Following that, she completed a Master of Science in Nursing, achieving a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Lisa spent nine years as a registered nurse, providing critical care to patients of all ages. During her nursing career, she received three nominations for the Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses. This internationally recognized award honors nurses who go above and beyond in their care for patients and their families. She began to consider a career in anesthesia after undergoing surgery herself, during which a CRNA provided her with compassionate, professional care that had a lasting effect on her.
“I knew I wanted to provide that same sense of comfort and trust to others. While caring for patients is part of our daily work as clinicians, I never forget that for them, it’s often a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and [they] deserve our best,” she shared.
Recently, Lisa earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Nurse Anesthesia (DNP-NA) from the University of Arizona in 2025. She was fortunate to complete several anesthesia rotations at Great Falls Hospital, which solidified her decision to relocate to Montana and join the team.
“Having experienced many clinical environments, I can confidently say this group stands out for its collaboration and genuine care for both patients and colleagues. I’m honored to begin my career alongside them and look forward to growing within this community, both professionally and personally.”
In her spare time, Lisa enjoys spending time with her family and exploring the outdoors. As she plants roots in Great Falls, she looks forward to reconnecting with one of her lifelong passions—flying. Lisa has been a private pilot since she was 18, and she finds peace and focus while in the air.
