WHAT IS PATIENT & FAMILY ADVISORY COUNCIL?

The Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) provides a dedicated space for patients and their loved ones to collaborate with our team. Together, we work to enhance care delivery, elevate the patient experience, and support ongoing improvements across our surgical hospital.

WHY JOIN PFAC?

  • Share your experiences as a patient or family member.
  • Help us identify strengths and opportunities to improve care and services.
  • Collaborate with hospital staff to create meaningful change.
  • Contribute your voice to projects that enhance patient care, education, and the overall experience.

WHO CAN JOIN?

We invite patients, their families, and hospital team members, including nursing, administration, quality, inpatient nursing, and surgical staff. All you need is your experience and your viewpoint. No special qualifications needed.

COMMITTEE RESPONSIBILITIES?

  • Attend and participate in scheduled council meetings (quarterly and as needed).
  • Review and provide feedback on patient education materials, discharge instructions, and patient experience initiatives.
  • Offer input on quality and safety efforts, facility design, communication approaches, and service delivery improvements.
  • Share recommendations with hospital leadership, the Governing Board, or the QAPI/Safety Committee.
