MEET THE PROVIDERS
COMPREHENSIVE CARE
Well-Child Care: Provides vaccinations, sports physicals, and an opportunity for your Pediatrician to assess your child’s physical growth and development.
Preventive health care is important in keeping your child healthy and happy. Routine well-child visits are a good step in identifying health challenges before they become significant. Well-child appointments are scheduled regularly according to the American Academy of Pediatrics’ recommendations. They begin at 2 weeks and continue at 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months, 15 months, and 18 months, and continue yearly starting at age 2.
Same-Day Appointments/Sick-Child Visits: Accommodates scheduled time for unexpected illness and minor injury. When unexpected illnesses occur, all providers offer same-day appointments to accommodate. Each day, our Pediatricians leave a part of their schedules open to accommodate patients who need an immediate appointment. Of course, parents still have the option to schedule an appointment for their child in advance.
Immunization Clinic: Immunization (vaccination) is a proactive way of creating immunity to certain diseases by using small amounts of a killed or weakened microorganism that causes the particular disease. The risks of vaccinations are small compared with the health risks associated with the diseases that vaccines are intended to prevent. The Great Falls Clinic pediatric department is pleased to provide an immunization schedule for your child recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics. No appointment is needed!

Although this is not a service we hope your family will need, we have care providers who are trained to provide sexual assault and child abuse examinations. The Great Falls Clinic strongly advocates against child abuse and our employees are mandatory reporters of any suspected child abuse. Additionally, the Great Falls Clinic providers are involved in ongoing programs to prevent child abuse and neglect in our community.
We feel it is important to educate regarding this topic and our providers are available to discuss any concerns you may have. If you suspect or have information that leads you to suspect child abuse or neglect, call Montana’s Stateside Toll-Free Child Abuse Hotline at 1-866-820-KIDS (1-866-820-5437). This Hotline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Abused children often suffer physical injuries including cuts, bruises, burns, and broken bones. Physical injury is not the only negative impact of maltreatment—it can also affect broader health outcomes, mental health, social development, and risk-taking behavior into adolescence and adulthood.
Child maltreatment includes all types of abuse and neglect of a child under the age of 18 that results in harm or potential harm. There are four common types of abuse.
Physical abuse is the use of physical force, such as hitting, kicking, shaking, burning, or other shows of force against a child.
Sexual abuse involves engaging a child in sexual acts. It includes behaviors such as fondling, penetration, and exposing a child to other sexual activities.
Emotional abuse refers to behaviors that harm a child’s self-worth or emotional well-being. Examples include name-calling, shaming, rejection, withholding love, and threatening.
Neglect is failure to meet a child’s basic physical and emotional needs. These needs include housing, food, clothing, education, and access to medical care.
