Dr. Jeffrey McDonald | Internal Medicine Physician in Great Falls, MT
The Great Falls Clinic is pleased to welcome Dr. Jeffrey McDonald to our dedicated internal medicine team at the Northwest location. Dr. McDonald is a board-certified internal medicine physician with more than 30 years of extensive experience providing comprehensive, evidence-based care to adult patients across a wide range of medical conditions.
Known for his patient-centered approach, he focuses heavily on disease prevention, chronic disease management, and long-term health outcomes. In addition, his deep clinical background allows him to effectively manage complex medical needs while building strong, trust-based relationships with those he treats.
Comprehensive Internal Medicine and Chronic Disease Management
Previously, over the course of his distinguished 30-year career, Dr. McDonald has practiced in Utah and Oregon, and most recently spent more than two decades caring for patients in Alaska. This background brings extensive experience in both community-based and geographically diverse healthcare settings, equipping him to handle complex adult medical needs, including:

“After almost 25 years in Alaska, my wife and I wanted a change. We chose Great Falls because of the people, the surrounding country, and the medical infrastructure,” Dr. McDonald shared. “It’s a great time to be practicing medicine. The tools to diagnose, treat, and above all, prevent health problems are expanding daily. To make the most of the new technology, the old skills of listening to patients and meeting them where they’re at with a trust-based relationship is paramount.”
Elite Medical Education and Background
Dr. McDonald earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of California. Furthermore, he completed his Doctor of Medicine at the University of California, Davis, where he was recognized as an Outstanding Medical Student in Psychiatry and received an Award for Excellence in Biochemical Research. He completed his internal medicine internship at the Mayo Clinic and his residency at the University of Utah.
Outside the clinic, Dr. McDonald stays active with his two daughters, Madison and Audrey. Furthermore, he is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys cycling, triathlons, bikepacking, hunting, and fishing.
