The Great Falls Clinic is pleased to announce that our Cancer Center is hosting a scarf drive on Monday, March 20th through Thursday, April 20th. The scarves and other donations will help support the Great Falls Clinic Cancer Center’s wig room. The wig room provides a wide range of services: head shaving, wigs, scarves, hats, and wig fittings, for patients experiencing hair loss due to medical treatment such as chemotherapy for cancer. All services and items provided by the wig room are free to patients.
New and used scarves will be accepted at the scarf drive. It is recommended to keep brand new scarves in their original packing. If the scarf was previously owned by a cancer patient, it is encouraged to have their story shared with the scarf (tags to write down the story are available at the donation boxes). The types of scarves that will be accepted are square scarves (30 inches or larger), oblong scarves (at least 17 inches wide), light weight infinity scarves, pashminas, and pre-sewn caps, buffs and turbans. Due to the difficulty of cleaning, knit scarves, winter hats, blanket scarves, and wigs will not be accepted. Monetary donations will be accepted to support the wig room.
Since the Great Falls Clinic Cancer Center is partnering with Hope Scarves, all scarf donations will be cleaned, individually packaged, and returned to the wig room for patients. You can drop off your scarf donations in one of our donation boxes. There will be donation boxes are located in the Main Campus on 1400 29th Street South, Northwest on 1600 Division Road, and Cancer Center on 3000 15th Avenue S.
